Quick question: did you shorten your original bars, 'grind the nubs' to get the grips to reach the bar-ends, or drill the M3 yourself?

Just happens to be lined up perfectly for the lux grips and I'm wondering where the credit is due. [thumbsup]

yeah i cut off about a half inch off both the stock & m3 bars. on the m3 bars, in addition to cutting them i also drilled new holes. the stock holes on the bars would have worked it i angled the bars straight, but i angled the bars down so everything was in the wrong place so i had to drill new holes.

47T sprocket came today. i'll be installing it as well as the EK chain, tomorrow!

i'll post pics as well as let you guys know how it feels...

mrplease

ok, ok...

i have decided to send back the 47T rear sprocket. anthony at commonwealth (THIS DUDE IS THE BEST!!!!) next day aired me a 45T rear dp sprocket & a 14T front sprocket. i'm going with that combo instead. the 47T rear sprocket was just was to big and it looked odd. it covered up my whole back rim it seemed like. anyway i'll be running the 14/45 gearing instead. i have an appointment friday morning at the dealership...

Thanks. I'm thinking about getting the un-drilled version and grinding the bosses off that are supposed to mate with the holes. If they don't clamp hard enough to keep from sliding on the bar, maybe some electrical tape would make a good shim.

P.S. Sound like a bad idea? (anybody?)

Let us know what you think of the 14/45 combo. I have the 14T and have been considering the 45. I'm not sold on it yet.

Aw... that's a pity... I was looking forward to seeing how it looked.  Can you confirm that the 47t will fit the under the chain guard?  Seems to me like it would fit but somebody elsewhere suggested that it could be a problem?  Cheers.

i think cutting off the nubs will be totally fine except the one with the throttle. i wouldn't want that one slipping at all!
