Anyone having oil leaks on a 696?

Mine seems to have developed one from the oil filter.  Here's the details;

1. No leaks before this (3000 miles)
2. Bike sat, covered in an underground garage for three and half weeks (I was out of the country)
3. Stated right up
4. Started to leak, about three sizable drops from the oil filter
5. Leak is maybe one drop while riding (that I can tell) but does not leak over night

I figure this is due to the oil filter seal contracting from sitting around for so long.

Anyone else seen this?

Maybe grab a filter wrench and make sure it's tight, it may have become a little loose from the heating cooling cycles of normal running.
Just give it a quick tweak to be sure.

But do not make it over tight.  If that doesn't work you could remove, inspect, reinstall or splurge for a new fiter.

hand tight plus 3/4 of a turn with wrench. Hopefully that should fix the dripping.

Tried tightening the thing but also tried to not over tighten...  Looks like i'm going to have to take the thing off, change the oil in the process.

Thanks for the suggestions

Oh, by the way did you make sure there was no rubber seal from the previous filter still stuck underneath?
