In town: Sun eve/Mon eve (12/7-8)

Hey gang--

I'm doing a NY driveby, staying in Manhattan (mid-town, East side) for a "thing" on Monday 12/8.  I'm arriving Sunday late afternoon and taking off Tues morn.  Anyone DMFers interested in meeting up either Sun eve or Mon eve for some ?  I don't think I've officially met any of the NY crew.

I haven't booked a hotel yet, but I figured I'd stay near my thing -->  52d & 3rd Ave.  I won't have transportation, but I've heard NY has cabs and I'm close to Grand Central.  FWIW, in my book, the desirability of a bar is inversely to the proportion of drinks served that require shaking or mixing.  Nuttin' high-falutin'.

Food, drink, whatevah.   Not frat-tastic, or places with talent (those places tend to fall into my prohibition about places with a lot of mixed drinks, many of which are silly colors).  Pubs or seedy bars work.  It doesn't have to be around where I'm stayin'.  That's just convenient.

Choice A - Johnny Utah's - 51st between 5th and 6th.  Decent BBQ place, great mellow vibe, only mechanical bull in NYC.

I *think* it's Monday.  Sometime.  Somewhere.  A pub sounds good for drinks/food/drinks/drinks/drinks.  I might have to start boozin' before y'all if I get out of my tie early and into some jeans.      

I just checked the weather.  WTF?  It was 50 there earlier in the week and now it's gonna be a high of 32 on Monday?!?  make the beast with two backs that.  My poor, delicate California man bits are gonna get all frostbited and such.
