Yea, it is work, I've ridden it solo and 2-up.  It's quite the workout, make sure your shoulders are in good shape.  It's a blast though, as long as you keep your head about you and don't try to chase anybody down that passes you.

We've stayed at Deals Gap resort, and it's great to sit back with a beer and watch the rest of the bikes come in for the night.  Last year Journeyman, fiance & friend  [thumbsup]  met 14 of us there!!!  What a blast!!!

The roads are phenomenal.  It's hard not to treat the raods as a track.  They're great and you want to test your skills, but the marks on the roads, ditches and embankments are good reminders to 'ride to your OWN ability', not others' abilities around you.  That said, GO!!!  Have a great time, and stay safe!!

DeVal Mostro will be there April 29 - May 3rd next year!
Frickin' snow!

Oh, and while you are there:

Check out N. GA.
Some will say they are way better roads (you'll have to find them yourself.. they are secret...) and  way fewer cops.

It's just another curvy road. The southern Appalachians are full of em.  Let the squids and the LEO's have it -they deserve each other. [laugh] [leo]

Yes there are a lot of squids and LEOs out there.

I feel that there are some benefits however.

You have at least three sets of photogs out there taking some pretty good shots of you riding.

Its a very technical road. And if you go down, there's plenty of people to help you up. Some of the roads out there are not frequently traveled and you're lucky if you get a cell signal.

You get to see all sorts of bikes. When I was out there with Billy and Yuu, we saw two other Monsters all the way from Ohio.

Yes it is heavily traveled and yes there are squids and LEOs. But it has its uses.

And when we were up there, I saw two other Hypers.

It's the only place I've ever seen another HM on this coast.

I played chase with a couple Hypers the last time I was up there.  Molly's tongue was hanging out after than round.  It was tough for my little 750 to keep the 1100 in sight.  If you need info on some of the other rides, shoot me a PM and I can give you a few to look at ~
