it missed once last time i rode the beast. i am not worrying about it right now. i have been starting her no problem, just going to keep her garaged til i can afford the tune up. i skipped the 12k because i was cheap and now feel guilty and paranoid at anything i hear wrong. my new pretty harley can stand the trip, she too is loud in a different, american, way. i have the race tuner and heavy breather on her, she has as much torque and horse that she'll ever have.  [moto]

Ahhh. Yes my bike is now at 12K, got it last year with 6K on it and thought it would take me a few years to get 12K built up. oh well.  I had a harley, and sold it for the monster.  It actually was a really reliable bike, fun to ride, had straight shot pipes on it with no baffles so it was very loud.  I put drag bars on it with 3.5" risers,  had a mustang seat with a nice backrest for my wife. it was a 883 sportster with the 1200 conversion kit.  I dont care what anyone says, that 1200 bike was faster than any harley out there. Faster than the stock 1200's, and faster than any of the bigger bikes. Here is a picture of it.

i dont know how to add attachments to this page. Dumb me.
Shes a biggins, almost 1600, but pretty near to sleeping when compared to the s4r or any duc for that matter.
anyhow, my wife limited me to the purchase and few must have upgrades (pipe, intake and passenger mods) for this year.
does anyone know a good friend who services ducs in their garage? has anyone looked into the training for duc maintenance? the school for harley and honda sounds interesting, useful and costly. i am just trying to escape the cost of labor at motocorsa.

All them damn schools cost way too much... not to mention the tools.

I like your H-D, looks like a cool machine and the black-out is nice.

You ought to check out Cheshire Motorsports locally as alt to the mighty Motorcor$a.

i heard cheshire will do the 12K in increments....meaning hell do $200 here, then come back when you got more money then hell do $200 more ect. Cheaper by the hour then motocorsa and he does a great job.

mmm, who? i am not familiar with chesire. i will be able to do it all at once, i don't have a problem saving. i like riding my cruiser for now, shes fun. i just want to save a little by going through a trusted mechanic who works for himself. thanks for more info on cheshire.  [thumbsup]

thanks tailgunner, for the note on the HD and info to cheshire. after getting the duc i NEVER thought i would own a harley but then i got married. she told me her true feelings about the "comfort zone" and how it falls outside of the 6x8" seat provided by ducati. funny enough, i was going to buy the Road King, the mega comfort cruiser with three headlights, but she wanted me to pick something i wouldnt be embarrassed driving.  8) street bob or fat bob, looking back, rather have gotten the fat bob. 3 major differences, forward controls are stock(mids on mine), fat boy tank (key doesnt have to stay in fork), and the aggressive stock styling with dual side by side headlights and drag bars. they didnt have a fat bob in. 2 pages worth of replies and no date/time set yet for the ride...... :'(  Anyone have any ideas for the route? Time to meet up?

8 lives

i want to ride granted i am not too hung over and its too early.  As far as route goes i think that should be planned later when we know about weather conditions such as ice or snow.  I need just a few more miles to put me at my next service level and winter time seems like a good time to do service.
I like my bikes like i like my women, naked!!!
