If you want clip-ons why not just buy a 1098 or 1198? The riding position is the whole point here  [bang]

I would take any modded versions as they all look FAR better than stock.

don't want bodywork and don't like uncovered sbks without a lot of work done to them to change how they look naked.

Riding position is so easy to change..why not change it instead of buying a different bike that would take more work to make into what you (I) want?

One of the problems with converting a SBK into an upright riding position is the geometry/weight distribution equation.  Every 996 that I know that has been converted with Monster bars (top of triples) and corrected rearsets (ala Monster riding position) becomes rather "light" in relation to the frontend. (wheelies are very easy due to weight distribution changes with us 200lb+ riders) Thus why a Ducati ala the Streetfighter has slightly more rake in the frontend and a longer swingarm to counteract this.  Yes -- wheelies are fun -- but not constantly. It is why I always thought the S4RS was such a great all round package in how it worked in comparison to a converted SBK setup.
