A colleague of mine (a neuropsychologist specializing in brain injury) just gave me a flyer for a course her partner is teaching. He's an EMT and MSF, first aid, and ASMI instructor.

The philosophy of the class is that the most likely person to be at the scene of a motorcycle crash is another motorcyclist, so it's important that as many of us as possible be trained in how to intervene at the site. As any EMT or cop can tell you, medical school is dismally insufficient training for this sort of thing, so I certainly plan to attend!

The class will be held Saturday 24 January, 2009 from 0900 to 1630 (4:30PM) at the Raymond, NH fire station. This particular class is limited to 15 participants, but the instructor says he can put together a private class if enough people want to get together and schedule one.

More information about Accident Scene Management at http://www.accidentscene.org/ a few specifics on the class are at http://www.accidentscene.org/schedule.htm#nh and on the instructor at http://www.accidentscene.org/instructors.htm#NH.

What a great course.

Unfortunately I'll be away.

I'd be interested in the private course in the future.
