I thought I heard Pegram was moving up to 1098/1198, but don't know for sure.  Aren't they eligible this year in USA?

Cher

Hmmm, very interesting.  I always "make time" for watching WSBK; GREAT racing bar none, IMHO.  As far as Pegram goes, when I was in AMS the other day talking with Scott, he did mention Pegram would be on a Duc in Formula Extreme...

It's all starting to come together for me now; I clearly need to brush up on my moto series race situation for '09 so I'm not totally useless in conversation  [laugh]   But I do know for certain we should be back to racing here pretty quick: WSBK is off on March 1, then MotoGP in mid-April.  Throw in some F1 and I'm a happy camper  [thumbsup]

If I recall Ron is correct that the Pegram team will be on a 1x98(R) varietial for the next season. That platform should meet the reqs for the series now

No, it's not going to be the same, the AMA organizers made sure of that... Instead of being Mladin's blue and white Yoshi GSXR at the front it will be Mladin's black and green Rockstar-sponsored GSXR.  How cool is that?!

Let's hear it for the AMA Suzuki Superbike (ASS) class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yea  :P

This link is not motorcycle related but it is Formula 1, which sometimes qualifies as "racing"  [laugh]   And as I recall, I'm not the only F1 nut rolling around out here so check this out; it's a comphrensive, pictoral listing of the technical changes required for this year's F1 teams.  Everything from Kenetic Energy Recovery systems (anytime the brakes are applied, the kenetic energy is transferred to on-board batteries that can be used to "boost" the engine like a turbocharger) to all the various areas of reductions in aerodynamic down force.  The cars look exactly like darts...

ANY FRIGGIN' WAY, here ya' go:   http://www.formula1.com/news/technical/

Opening round is March 29th, Australian GP.

I confess, I've been an F1 nut ever since Mario's John Player Special won the Championship in 1978 albeit a saddened season for the only American to ever win an F1 championship.

Just ran across this tidbit (relates to my F1 post earlier):

http://www.autobloggreen.com/2009/02/05/ktm-used-kers-system-on-125-gp-bike-last-year/

Looks like the KTM 125cc MotoGP team LAST SEASON had already used a kenetic energy recovery system (KERS) on one of its bikes...  So much for F1 being "the pinnacle of motorsports technology."  [laugh]

I can't wait to see how this new KERS technology impacts the consumer motorcycle market; the more you brake, the faster you'll be able to go.  Should be the next greatest thing since traction control and ABS brakes.

Here is a first look at one of the new Moto2 class bikes that will be the MotoGP support class in 2011. Is it just me or do I miss the 250GP class already? Do we really need another in line 4 600cc class? Talk amongst yourselves. [cheeky]
