Here's the Ducati press release:
"Since Dianese owns AGV, the Rossi 46 Ducati Replica helmet will sold exclusively at Ducati dealers, for $8995. Chances to buy this helmet will be sold for $500 each, beginning in March 2012. Or, this helmet can be had for free, with advance orders of the 2013 DD16 (MSRP $99,995).

How did you not see it coming? The riders we have in WSBK are poor - only the satellite teams have been consistent (Checa) - we just made a big MotoGP grab with Rossi, and the Superbike is being revised to a monocoque a la D16rr over the next two years.

Minimum weights have always been a method of controlling/equalizing competition. The MotoGP bikes have minimum weights even.

They also had to slap Aprilia around for using gear driven cams rather than chain driven - since that's not how their normal bikes work and it was arguably cheating.

I doubt if it was that close to the line they would be allowed to race.  Anyway, it doesn't matter since there are no more Ducs so I'll root for the Beemer now.
