There's one parked in my garage!  I can't decide how I feel about it.  Discuss!

EDIT: It's not my bike.  I park at a parking garage.

Bastard!!  8)

That is one cool bike - would love to have one in my garage, well, if I actually had a garage and another zero on the end of my paycheck...

I guess depending on what kind of trail riding you do, it could be a pretty neat bike...

while it's 150 lbs lighter than a GS, my KTM400 is about 130 lbs lighter than the TerraMostro

Congrats!  [beer]

It looks cool but its way too heavy I think.

That's pretty neat!

I had a different solution...I have a 2006 Kawasaki KLR650, and I just got a 2001 M900 -- total cost about $8400.  I've only put a few miles on the Monster (the tank is now in the capable hands of ducpainter, who is reinforcing the weld at the hinge among other things -- call me crazy, but I have an aversion to leaking gas near my crotch), but I did notice on my commute this morning -- the KLR certainly does not have Brembos.  I forgot which bike I was on momentarily as I one-fingered the brake lever, and almost ended up in the bed of the pickup in front of me!  OK, maybe a slight exaggeration...   ;D

OH, and one other thing - "this thread is useless without pics"!

I know.  I need to check the house rules on photographing posting other folks' bikes.  The garage is motorcycle-only and run like a club house.

Nice!

I've always liked that thing.

I had no idea they were going to start selling them.  That's awesome.

I like the bike.  I like the idea.  I don't like the price.  There are a lot of 2-bike combos a guy could choose for less money, and have more capable machines.  No doubt that it's cool, though.

Not for an ADV bike. Look at the BMW GS that thing is frickin' huge and it's iconic in it's class. It's not meant to be a full on dirt bike like a CR I think it's supposed to fall into the on off road class and for that I think it's awesome. When I get a new street bike I plan on doing this conversion to my 695.   [moto] [thumbsup]

Isn't the Multi ugly enough? Someone had to go and build that thing!  [puke]
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions.

The only problem is, very few of us can ride two bikes at once.  Dual Sport bikes are always a compromise, but anyone who's ever sat on their street or touring bike, looking down a cool dirt road in a forest, knows what the payoffs are.  IMO, the terra mostro minimises these compromises on the "road" side.

How does $16500 compare with something comparable?

In a way, it's apples and oranges, but I think a GS with aftermarket bags and a few other requisite farkles and you'd be right in that ball park.

Little bit more similar, engine size wise, my '99 F650, once I got the suspension set up the way I liked it (Ohlins, RaceTech, Jesse bags, etc) was around $12,500, in '99 bucks, and the Mostro I'm sure is a LOT more bike.

I have had mixed feelings about them since i first read the article on them. My finale decision is it looks ok, probably doesnt perform fantastic, way too much money for the bike and not a real looker to me. It does look ok, but not breathtaking for the amount og work that went into it. I would buy something else.
About the same time you're dragging your knees through a series of tight left-right-handers on Sunday afternoon, some guy in white shoes is sweating a 3-foot putt. Go figure.
