I'm going to fix my Dad's 5-gallon diesel one.  He grumps about having to manage it while climbing up on the tractor to fuel it.

Shortly after I posted evening, T says to me...'I love this house'.

I grin and ask what isn't working?

She says we have no hot water.

So I open the basement door and report...

Easy to see why...the basement is flooded.

How often does a piece of 100 year old glass get caught in a sump pump?

BTW...waterlogged propane hot water heaters can be difficult [read impossible] to light.

C and I do the same thing with this one.

Problem 1:  Thown together in the mid 60s by a volume contractor that cut every corner possible

Problem 2:  Previous owners over the years band-aid fixed any problem, including a floor I nearly fell through as I was remodeling a bathroom.

See three posts up.  That's why the appointment with Schumacher Homes tomorrow.  I've got 10 acres that would love a house built upon it.

Mine was thrown together in the mid sixties also...the 1860's The old farmers did the best they could.

I haven't even used a bandaid.
