Our utilities gas and electricity were privatized around 20 years ago. Prices rose (& still do) lots.

Our water is still government owned, but they're now geared up to make the government a profit, or at least less of a loss.

So much for cheap utilities for all.

I don't pay for water...

or garbage...I haul it to the transfer station...

or sewerage...we have a septic system.

Our electric bill is stupid...~$130/month.

I remember having fluid drained off my knee.  Very unpleasant, especially for a 15 year old.

Water?  We pay about $30 a month.  My parents (and where I grew up) it came out of the ground and the only thing it cost was the electricity for the water pump in the well.  Probably only a few dollars a month.

Small world indeed Needles!

Our Tuganites have invited us to stay with them. The Mrs has talked of a Qld trip later in the year.

If we're heading there, I'll let you know.
Let me know...

There or Brisbane are close.

Mine wasn't too lazy, but will be for the rest of the evening.  My truck was overdue an oil change, so I spent a while rolling around in the driveway.  Oil filters get put it the worst possible location sometimes.

No water bill or sewage-just electricity and propane. Typically less than $150 a month.

Last house was a huge energy sink, but there were three houses running off the same utilities. Expenses woulds be 1k-1500/month.

No, that didn't include the mortgage.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

I left the propane out... :-\

it's cheap in the summer. ;D

Im in an irrigation district. Theres a 6" pipe that runs over to the edge of my property. When the district is pumping water (Seasonal and it depends on the lake level) I can use as much as I can get out of it. It's about $130 a year weather I use it or not.

I have a 5 hp pump and I just flood irrigate the lawn with it.
