Arai Ducati Helmet

I found this yellow helmet on ebay today for $125. Not sure it is a real Arai or Ducati but for $125 it was worth the gamble since it matched my 999

The only reason i would buy a used helmet would be just for decoration.... this is the last thing  we gable in safety....

To answer your question, no Ducati and Arai never made a yellow helmet, Arai and Ducati started colaboration in 2006 they never made solid color helmets  this one looks like old Quandum with a couple Ducati stickers...

If you want a Helmet buy a New one   ...... my2cents

All those stickers are available on ebay, you could make your own custom "Ducati" helmet with any lid

Congratulations on your $375 savings, my friend.  Looks good.  The Ducati stickers make it an official Ducati helmet... just like all the others with Ducati stickers.

Arai helmets have a 5 year expiration date

if you drop a helmet from  a couple feet distance from the ground can make the helmet useless in the spot but not visible from outside (interior foam absorves the impact) but very dangerous if you hit the helmet at the same spot again..

Would be safer to buy a $150 helmet of a leser brand (KBC, NOLAN, SCORPION,ICON) than buy a used ARAI, SHOEI, SUOMY...

All I know about the helmet is it is from an estate sale. I sure hope the guy wasn't wearing it when he passed away

I wouldn't say they sound smug, just their opinion on how they buy helmets.  The thing with buying a helmet sight unseen, is the risk of getting a helmet that is beyond it's "service life" or not as advertised.  I personally wouldn't buy a used helmet unless I knew the person and they were upfront about the (ab)use the helmet received.  Like other, it's just a personal preference.  Gear is a personal thing and everybody has their price points and brand preference. 

To add to the helmet convo, I am in the market for a new helmet seeing that my Shoei is around the 5 year mark and my Arai needs to be retired due to my crash and it being ill-fitting now.  I talked to Peter at MotoLiberty and will be getting sized up for a new lid soon.  And yes both were sent off to get inspected after meeting asphalt.
