Ahhh true dat. Damn, make the beast with two backsing engineering classes messin' with me.

So is he gay or what?

No I doubt he's gay.  The rainbow holds some significance in racing.. but my brain won't let me remember what it was.  I think past champions used to wear the rainbow colors to signify their championship?  I'm not sure, just trying to remember.

Derby?  Anyone?

I seem to recall he used a powerpuff girls helmet for a while as well.

There isn't much significance to be had there.

Here it is:

I think that is the perfect sponsor for him.....every shot of him in the paddock he has his leathers unzipped exposing his chest.   I have to pull for him a little bit this year now.  Sounds like the satellite Hondas won't even be close to competitive though....too bad!
M-ROCin' it!!!

yeah, in Italy you often see the rainbow flag with "PACE" on it -- called a Peace Flag

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

We met De angelis and Dovi the Sun night after the Valencia race.  They were out at dinner at the same place we were.  My first, second and eighteenth impression?  De Angelis is gay as make the beast with two backs.  And not Euro gay, where he's actually straight.  I-make the beast with two backs-dudes gay.  Course, my gaydar could be totally out of whack.  Around here, everyone's gay.  ;D

They were both super cool -- patient, light-hearted about all the ribbing the Italians were giving them (for not riding a Ducati), willing to spend time signing autographs and answering billions of questions.  They were just trying to eat dinner and got mobbed.  I was pretty impressed with both of them.  Just really good guys.  I left early and was outside waiting for a cab when they came out to leave.  We chatted for a couple of minutes.  It was neat.

i shoulda clarified that his helmet (reportedly) isn't a gay thing; no clue about him personally.  ;)

well now that explains why he had Abercrombie and Fitch male models holding umbrellas for him...
