Nurburgring with my Monster. the journey starts here.

After years of talking about it with m mate over a beer or 12 and saying how one day we'll go. We're actually doing something about it.
Later this year i'll be going round the Nordschiefe on my monster.
I wont be going for any records or anything i'll be happy jsut to trudle round.
We'll be riding there and back so i'll need new tyres before i go and when i get back.
its almost 1000 miles from my front door to the ring.


I have a million and one things to do before it happens tho.
Travel arrangements need to be finalised.
But provisionally we ride from Fife where we all live down to dover which is approx 500 miles. stay at a motel outside Dover
then early next morning catch the ferry to  Calais in France which take roughly an hour. so that'll be breakfast time.
Then through  frnace to Belgium into germany and the nurburgring.
Depending on traffic and scenic detours we shoul arrive mid afternoon. go to the ring and watch the evening session.
Then the next day spend chilling and cleaning and checking the bikes ready for that evenings session.
repeat this the next day.
then the next 2 days ride home back the way we came


and the Monster needs sorted.

I need a one piece suit ot a zip together trouser and jacket. I am scouring ebay for age 14-15 ones  as i'm only 5ft4
and usually have to cut 5" off the legs.
The monster will  get a mild tune up
its a 97 600 so it'll get 620 heads and 750 jets in the carbs and an alu flyweel.
And depending on time and budjet and if any turn up i may get adjustable forks.

I have already got myself a track tank off Ebay for the princely sum of £1. Its a 98 Dark tank wit some small dents. Not incase i drop it but because i've read alot about paint damaged caused by gravel throwm out by cars when they go off.

I'm away to pick it up right now. i'll put up pics later.
