I have just bought the beltsfor my 2004 DS from ca cycle works with the CD, is there anything that the video, Will that be enough or should I get a work shop manual?

A workshop manual is always helpful. 

If its a genuine article it'll tell you about the way the factory does it. !! 

If you can dig up a manual on the DS, I'll have one.   

I've just followed Chris's directions without a problem. It aint rocket science.

I mean...I really would like someone with experience to back me up on this....calling Brad Black...

but take a look at that engine,  water cooler connectors etc....and then take a look at the visible parts of the bike....

I reckon this is an urban myth....that doesn't look like 300 km of brand new engine to me....check the oil cap...

I just rang up Fraser's for a price on a work shop manual, sit down before reading, $235.35, and only one in the country.

That tyre has got a bit more than 300km on it (and doesn't appear to be a brand of tyre that is on a new Ducati).
The oil cooler has some paint scraped off and is starting to rust.
Maybe that side got demolished as it was sliding down the road.

down load one of the interweb i got mine for  a couple of bucks but its a very easy too do the belt change just take your time and double  check every thing twice to make sure you have all the marks are all lined up then when you put the new ones on put the bike in top gear and turn the back wheel and turn the engine over a few times and then re check marks  when happy do the final tension on the ds just youse a 3 mm allen key on both cylinders as for the original post that done more than 300 kays or it has sat alot out side look at the cams in the centre of the cam nuts mine has done 6500 kays and are still shinny and never seen a oil change well whats that oil stain below the filler plug and its a faired bike so what comes with a silver frame thats faired cheers bazz

I just opened up my workshop manual and the DDS has a special "measurement module" which you push up against the belts. It measures tension and you "lightly flick the belt with a finger" to read the htz value. "Do not flick several times as the DDS takes one second to read the value"

I'm up for mine now, and thought I would have a go at fitting the belts, the only thing I'm concerned about is checking the valve train.

I suppose the only thing to be concerned about (the valves) is if you have to change the shims. If they are within tolerance, you would just whack them back in, I suppose?

if some one close too you can help once you do them they very easy to do ,dont have too remove the shims too check them but you will need quality feeler gauges and  digital calapers if you need to change the shims  and the most important tool will be a piece of steal rod to put inside the shims too measure them if you need help i can talk you through it cheers bazz
