No pressure, Stu. Things is what they is. I have other issues to deal with (doesn't everyone?).

Just know that I haven't forgotten...   ;)  Will be good to see you again!  Take care and good luck w/your issues!  (I'll be dealing w/mine...)

Update: It turns out that Monday's are now motorcycle practice days at the cost of $50 for 1/2 day or
$75 per rider for a full day. The action starts at 8:00 A.M and concludes at dusk ~6 P.M.
All you have to do is to show up and fork over the dough and you are good to go.
The usual safety measures apply: leather gear etc. and taping lights and mirrors.

Oh nice! So then we'll all gather for a NMMR day/half day at the track then?
Sometimes when you say no, you really mean YES, that is why we have the safe word.. "FLÜGGÃ...ÆŽNKâˆ,â,¬ÄŒHIÅ'βØL∫ÊN"  If at any time the pleasure is too much, simply say the safe word, and we will stop"

Interesting! This is great, so no limit on track days!  [thumbsup] So, when is the NMMR day, we all show up on 4th at 8am?  [clap]

Question on gear: I have a Fieldsheer full-body suit with armor- synthetic, not leather. Is that acceptable?
Nobody said that I did. Everyone says that I would.

Page 2 on SMRI guidelines (http://www.smri-racing.org/docs/trackdayguidelines.pdf) for the track gears say: "One-piece riding suit in good condition made of leather, Kevlar, Aramid, or Cordura (i.e. Aerostich). Two-piece suits are acceptable as long as the
pants and jackets are joined with zipper(s) to create the equivalent of a one-piece suit."

Footwear and gloves need to be leathers according to it! However for tech inspection you only carry helmet and ride/push the bike...I was in my shorts, T-shirt and bathroom slippers!  :P At the pit entrance they don't pay attention to gears...maybe they do... [roll]

Now that I opened my mouth, I'm gonna get it from Cloner!   [evil]

All said, guess you should be fine...DON'T PLAN ON CHANGING GEARS AND TOURING OFFROAD! ;D

I've never been to a "practice day" but when we rented the track for the last NMMR trackday nobody checked anything. We suited up, taped up, hit the track, then paid the lady. Since this is an organized "practice day" it may be run differently.  Scott, Any input here?

I don't believe SMRI is affiliated with these "practice days" at all, so I have no idea what to expect.  Karl, can you call and find out whether or not the track is hosting this?

Either way, for what we're talking about a nonleather (synthetic) riding suit should be fine as long as it zips together around the circumference of your waist.

I doubt they'll have an official tech inspector out there.  There will probably be no corner workers and no ambulance, but if the track is putting something on they may have a meatwagon.

JUST BE CAREFUL!!

I can probably make it. I just have to be gone by 1:30 because I have to work that day. I will be there this Mon. too. Steve from MotoAuthority is putting on a practice day too. $50. Call him if you want to go too.

The track seems to be hosting this but I'll check with them tomorrow and let you know about the gear and prep work....sounds like we could have a blast at about $10 per hour

I'll wait on your post Karl to take off on Monday as I need to give a notice to my boss. If there is not much headcount we should just do the Oct16 track day as there are all facilities for a full track experience. The cost is similar 75 to 95. I would do both if I can, but my tires may not last two!

Come to find out....no specific gear or vehicle preparation required....also no EMT.
Since they just started this event, the attendance has been low...2 to 3 riders total.
Post up what you would like to do :)

So, I went the the track today to ride and there were 3 people there including me. Not what I had expected at all. Yeah, it was nice to pretty much have the track to myself but it was not very exciting. I had fun, but as the day went on, my tires really started slipping. I definitely need a new wet before I go out again.
