Wow!  I almost killed the old fart myself once.

For what it's worth, in addition to my obsession with Ducati motorcycles, I'm a huge science fiction and gaming buff.  In support of my affinity for sci-fi and games I used to attend an annual gathering of nerds and freaks called DragonCon in Atlanta, GA.

DragonCon is a gathering of a few thousand (OK....MANY thousands) of idiots, drunks, and assorted oddities who celebrate their common love of all things pop culture; including movies of many genres, sci-fi and fantasy in particular, comic books, technology, music, games including video, board, live-action, tabletop, and others, and books.  The Con lasts from Thursday evening through the following Monday evening and is always held over Labor Day weekend.  Satruday is the freak show.

During the freak show thousands of fans dress up in whatever costumes they brought out and walk around looking pathetic (or sometimes VERY hot...they have a Dawn lookalike contest, in case any of you are comic fans and know the Dawn character) whilst consuming copious amounts of alcohol and other "regulated" substances.  Well....I was walking around enjoying the freakshow and some MORON was walking against traffic (they put up ropes to keep foot traffic moving in a single direction) and, since I was looking at the freaks and not where I was going, I plowed this guy down, knocking him from his feet.  As I bent to help the guy up I noticed he was wearing a David Carradine costume....a loose fitting linen shirt, a leather vest, dark brown khakis, sandals, a broad brimmed brown leather hat, and a walking stick.  As this lookalike apologized for swimming upstream whist I helped him to his feet, I quickly realized that he wasn't a lookalike, but he was, indeed, David Carradine.  He was at the Con in support of the Kill Bill series of film and was slated to sign autographs during the weekend.  I brushed the guy off, thanked the Gods that I hadn't broken his hip, and sent him on his way.

I was never a big fan, but I think the world was a somewhat cooler place with him in it.

Just when I thought I had seen Kill Bill enough for a while... Here I go again (he played the character perfectly).  I loved almost everything he's done.

And yes, he took cool up a few notches.
I promise to make better mistakes tomorrow.
