Well, the deal is that I am scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights 3rd shift, so I am usually dragging ass come Sunday morning, but if you guys were staying through till Monday, I could make a quick zip up to catch you before you break camp. I haven't seen my schedule for that week yet and they have been riding me like a rented mule, just plugging me in anywhere and anytime they feel like it, so I am not very optimistic about being able to get away.
I climbed Harvard and Columbia in 1996 so I know the area is very beautiful (unless the weekend warriors with no hiking etiquette have trashed it - doubtful as most backcountry folks are of the same mindset). I will definitely try to come if I have Sun and Mon off. I'll need really REALLY good directions to your secret spot, DDGM, since our history shows disconnects are a distinct possiblity.

In fact, maybe you should leave a trail of red flags up the trail.

I really, really wish I could make it DDGM. July 3rd is Hannah's 5th birthday, and we have family coming into town. It wold be good to see you, and I'm always looking for an excuse to go to the mountains...but I can't make the date this year.

I'm off Sunday and Monday so I have pencilled it in as a destination. It is not carved in stone. When you see me I'll be there .

Don't calculate me in on your headcount because I have my own gear and provisions. I could use some directions from the trailhead if it is not obvious where you will be camping.

I think we'd better just plan on a ride one of these days. I finally broke down and bought a Tracfone (for my ferret sitter). A GPS is right out. I'm still doing the compass and orienteering deal while traipsing about. Wish they had an old fart emoticon.
