Aren`t there universal carbon fiber heel guards that you can buy for like $60 U.S. They just come with two hose clamps that the heel guard screws to. That will solve your problem and look decent doing it. I forgot who has them but I think one of the sponsors on here sells them also.

I'm sure MotoWheels have them and I might try that later on, although I'm not sure they will handle the sharp bend on the lower s-pipe. (?)

that bike looks awesome, sure looks mighty hot for Mr. Righty though!
Actually heat wasnt an issue on that bike what so ever..
I applied about two cans of high temp paint before I wrapped the pipes.
And I even wrapped the pipes that went thru the bike (a.k.a under my ass) twice to keep the heat down.

Check out this place. I have no first hand experience with them. I just came across the site one day.

Yeah, I have that one bookmarked. I don't see one that bends the way I need though. Did I miss it?
Thanks anyway [thumbsup]

This worked for me - just ordered a extra heat shield, painted it flat black, got a couple metric clip nuts, SS button heads and fiber washers an SS worm clamps at the local hardware.

Thanks, that's encouraging..... I thought the shield would be obstructed by the s-bend.  :)
