Sorry to hear about Your truck, and there are some things in life a person should never let go !! I'm sure it will be fixed with proper care. there are a few of that model around here if You need parts, maybe post a list and We could start looking. Possibly a whole donor truck... Gotta love the "politically correct" statement, so very true.

Thanks KRJ, finances are gonna prevent me from getting to far into it at the moment. But the offers to help are much appreciated by everyone, I have little doubt that I'll be tapping into some of the expertise this board and the people here have. Thank you to everyone sincerely I am thankful from the bottom of my heart.  [beer]

Hmmm.... talking with my brother Kyle. He has a 1980 F350 4X4 he picked up for nothing that needs title work. I was thinking about putting a newer chassis under the truck for ease of parts finding. I think it should already have a 460ci which means my 429ci should drop right in when I'm done building it. I know you're wondering "why would he replace a 460 with a 429?". Simply because it's cooler.... and not an emissions motor.  [evil]

Anyway this would solve the delimma I've been playing in my head over to go 4X4 or rod it. It was important to know how I was going to build the engine. So I'll be building it for more bottom end and solid reliabity.... eventually.

On to the Chassis I'm gonna have to cut about two feet out of the wheel base, which shouldn't be a problem since I think those had pretty straight level frames. Plus the body mounts won't matter as I'll have to custom locate them all anyway. I'm thinking of fabbing the mounts to provide a a 2 inch body lift with maybe a 4 inch suspension lift for an over all lift of 6 inches. Enough to look right but not so much that people wonder if I'm compensating for something. ;)  [laugh]

Anyhow This is good news and could actually mean I could have my truck on the road a lot earlier than expected. If that is the case, I may put off buying a car and try to do it why I have my <eh-hm> rental(thanks Mom). Anyhow I need to decide on a price with my brother, and hopefully get this ball rolling.  [thumbsup]

Sounds like a fun project...let me know when you are good to go [thumbsup]

That will be very cool.  I am trying to envision it.  Is Kyle's 350 drivable or will you need me to haul it down there to you?

It'll look the same only a little taller. It isn't on the road right now, so I'll have to figure some logistics out. I'll let you know when it's closer to being ready.
