My son said he's not sure whether the coating helped or not, but here's the link for you to check it out...

Gene,
Thanks very much for the link. They don't list ceramic coating as one of their services but I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Wow, busy day.  Seems a dirty old man misses quite a lot on a 13 hour work day.

Welcome Gene! I was the old guy on a white 848 that was there the day you picked up your StreetFighter. I wanted to stop and say "hi" but you looked busy with the salesman outside and I was already a half an hour late for an appointment that Sat. morning. Glad you've chimed in.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Aha!
Gene's the guy that bought the SF! I was about to fly over and look at it when I heard it was already gone.
You may have saved me some serious cash (and possibly a divorce!)

Thank You! And Congrats!

So how do you like it?

uhm, feel like throwing a couple of pics up?

I am sad to say that Gene has been experiencing occurrences of the all too common fueling issues with E3 compliant Ducatis.  :(

Thanks for the welcome...

I love the SF on the open road and but am not overjoyed with it's behavior just puttin' around...throttle can be an on/off switch at times.

The dealer has a red one on the showroom floor if anyone's interested... :)

I'm telling you Gene, that bike just needs the DP chip, with the obligatory Termis of course, to go along with the 14t sprocket that you put on.  I would say it's a safe bet to say most of the problems would be gone once you slapped those tasty bits of kit on it.

Interesting. The salesman thought they were only getting one.

My Monster was RATTY on the low end around town. The DP chip & termi's made a big difference and the 14t sprocket made a HUGE difference.

I bet that's where will sent my cyl barrels to get coated...

I have no idea how well powdercoat would stand up to exhaust heat.

According to the powder coat guy here, it won't. He said, "i'm happy to do it for you but you won't like the results"
I have read that House of Kolor's hi-heat line works well, but it lack the insulating/rust proofing properties of ceramic coat.

I really don't want a louder exhaust at this point, but I may well go with some aftermarket slip ons and some kind of tune, in order to get the bike smoothed out...

I think that's BS so that they can maximize their profit..."we've only got one so we can't really discount it"
