That's what I thought too, due to abandonment, and that's what the USPTO lists also.

Searching for SSR will give you literally dozens of matches. And Ducati SSR is technically "DEAD"

you are correct on the first point, but the second point sort of -- the US registration is dead because they moved it to an WIPO registration in 2005 -- plenty of companies have been doing that because the maintenance is easier..  we usually recommend a simultaneous registration but both are enforceable in the US under Madrid.. .

however, i did not say i believed it infringed, i was merely making an observation since they sell Ducati race-related items and use the SSR letter logo. 

i think one could make an argument that it infringes, mainly because they prominently display Ducati items, but i don't know if it would prevail.

either way, i don't care, it was just an interesting connection.

Ok, so I got the reverse shifter, and installed it last week (not very difficult). The shifting felt very crisp when I tried it by hand. Didn't have time to ride then, so I had to leave it in storage for a week. I tried riding today, and that confirmed what I had already feared when I looked at the lever: with the stock rearsets, the shifter peg is veeeeeery short. The stock rearsets are placed outwards quite a lot, so you have to make a very funny angle with your ankle. Really awkward. I'm gonna have to see what I can do by changing the position of the lever a bit, but I'm not too optimistic. I tried rotating it down a bit, but I got some interference with the kickstand when shifting the lever downwards. Maybe finally a good excuse to order me some new rearsets? :)

I noticed this too from the pics on SSR's site, which is why I held off on purchasing.  Maybe you can try finding a longer toe peg?  :-\

Yeah, I was thinking about machining a new toe-peg, but I guess that'll take me a couple of weeks. Too bad ... :'(

They make two sizes, the one they recommend for the monster is the shorter one, maybe you could return it for the SBK one?

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

It's the toe peg that's too short, not the shifter.

If you can find one that CC used to make for the 749/999, it had a bend to go around the body work. This will put the toe piece at a much more prefered angle. Good luck trying to find one.  ;)

Both. It was made to go out and around the bodywork on the 749/999. CC was the only one to make one like this.
