I traded in my FZ6 this week for a used 2009 Monster 696. It was traded in on a Streetfighter so I scooped this one up. Nice ride so far I'm getting used to the mid range power band and having fun.
The bike came with Termi's  :o they sure are loud!  I test rode an 1100 monster with them and I don't remember it being this loud. The other Ducati's I test rode were the streetfighter first then the 1198 and both had really stiff clutch levers nice power but a bit tall from a stand still.
When I figure how to post pics I will.

Welcome to the DMF, congrats on the 696! [thumbsup]

Glad to hear you are enjoying it.  Your termis probably have the baffles taken out which is why they are louder than the other one.

As far as clutch levers, I'm sure they were worse on the other bikes than on your 696.  There are different ways to improve those as well.

Here's the FAQ on posting pictures, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Oh, and don't forget to check in with your local group, SoCal Monsters.

I've had the bike less than a month now and have put a thousand miles on her.
Had to replace the grips the sponge rubber ones that came on it were already starting to crack so I slipped on a pair of progrips gel touch.
Much better but then I would have been happy with the stock ones. Before I got this bike I was looking real hard at the Streetfighter but the price difference was only 10,000 more please (none used on the market) and insurance up 500+ a year.

Why do they make them so tempting like crack, Oh why?
