What would she be worth?

Purchased something that I don't really need off ebay and picked it up yesterday.

Arrived at his shed to pick this thing up and he has 3 bikes in his shed, one under a cover. Noticing his bikes, I asked if he rode much and he said not as much as he liked and I told him I recently sold mine. He asked what it was. I said a Ducati Monster and then he points at the bike under the cover. Me getting all giddy thinking what's he got under there. Rips it off to reveal a Mike Hailwood Replica (I think he said an 82 model). This thing was absolutely spotless, not a mark on it. Then I find out why she is so clean. 2600 original miles.  :o

His Dad owned it. He told dear old Dad if he sold that bike and didn't give it to him, he would never see his grandkids, ever again.

Just wondering what she would be worth? I'm thinking 30 grand mark?

He also had a Montessa trials bike, a GS500 just to putter around on and a Honda Monkey he owned from when he was a kid.  :D

Redbook says ~8K for the 85/86 models. http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/cs/bikes/mcycles.php?make=DUCA&family=1000R

But a) redbook always seems to lowball and b) god knows what one is worth with that few K's on the clock in mint condition.

I frikkin love those bikes. They are probably errm interesting to actually ride, but I could look at it all day.

I'd say if its as mint as you say with genuine k's on it, it would be worth around 20 to 25k. The old bevels are starting to be worth a bit.
There was a 79 model sold in Perth around a year ago with i think 2000k's on the clock and it went for 35k on e bay. The 79's are the MOST sought after mhr's though.

Yep, like that one. Maybe an earlier model.  ???  I had to tear myself away from it & force myself to go home.

I also looked at redbook and there is no way they are worth so little.

He said it is interesting to ride it, not the best handling/turning bike he has ever been on.

Amazing what even an early square case fetches now, imho they were a bit of a heap of crap as far as reliability goes, but obviously people have short memories, I wonder what my big bro's round case sport is worth now? (do you know any hit men? It's left to me in his will)
