Curious to know what you have as I'm having a real hard time getting a decent fitting pair.

5'6 145 30 inch waist.

Its hard to find overpants that fit... i have short legs, and most overpants are a bit long.

I gave up on winter pants and if you want to stay warm for cheap, get a pair of PVC rain suits, wear your jeans + underarmor heat gear. total cost is only $60.

I have a pair of Scorpion XDR Awe pants. things are pretty warm and waterproof in everything but hurricanes. if you can find $240 bucks to drop on a pair of winter pants, I recommend them....cant say highly yet as i have not tried them at 20degrees yet.

I am 5'7, 140lb, with 30-31 inseam.  The wife got me a pair of Firsgear Overpants for commuting, sz 30.  Fits me pretty well with plenty of room to move around.  You might want to try a sz 32.

Thanks He Man.  We are the same size, I'm actually 147 most of the time due to tournament weight, just thought to round it up as there aren't many of us little guys.  I thought about the underarmor, just want to avoid going into the bathroom at work to change in and out of them.  Guess it's the same thing with the overpants.  I may check you PVC rain suit out, where'd you get yours and which do you have.  I can put the underarmor OVER my pants and then the PVC pants.

Thanks Goat Herder, will check those out as well, see if I can find an inexpensive pair.

how od you put underarmor OVER your pants?

I have this blue PVC rainsuit for $25 bucks. The windproofing is what keeps the you warm.  I just got it at walmart down in PA when it was storming like nuts. You can buy them online for $25. there are two types though, a thin ~1.5mm type and a thicker 3mm type. Make sure you get the later.

Get a big enough size and you probably can do it.

Thanks on the PVC info.

i am 5'7" 150lbs with a 30" waist (maybe 31" depending on pants)
i use a pair of joe rocket mesh pants int the spring/summer for commuting...
in the cooler months....now....i have a pair of Hein Gericke that tuck into my boots. they are not considered over pants, but in a size 32, they slip over any pants i am wearing....slip them on right in my cube.

I took out the liner on my Fieldsheer Adventure Pants and reassessed them.  Fit a bit better for me.  Going to keep them since at $95 they were good value and they are really nice made pants.  Also realized the knee pads are adjustable and that helped immensely.  Figure with jeans/pants and then the Fieldsheers I'll be good for a while and really cold days will get an underarmor layer and/or liner back in.

I wouldnt worry to much about the legs with that kind of protection. normally speaking, if you keep your core body warm, everything else will follow. The main area to keep warm on your legs though are your knees.

bmw cover pants size small, i'm the same height and weight and waiste as you.  the catch = you have to goto a tailor to get the eleastic gathering in the waiste of the bmw cover pants taken out bc its made to fit someone as small as 28 inch waiste so its tough if you are 31 inch waiste.  the tailor took out the gathering so its stright and now the waist is almost 32 inches total, you won't even notice the cahnge if done by a good tailor.

good luck.
