I've seen that & I quasi "know" the guy from Ducati Spot.  He must think that he is one of two 848's with the all pearl white fairing as opposed to the flat black bottom section. Can't be talking about 848's & 1198's combined because all of the pearl white 1198's had the full paint job on the fairing. As far as I know there were no 848's delivered that way. Can't speak for the fact that some might have been repainted after delivery.

But one of only two of any sort on the island, sorry...............
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Do you?  Really?

Don't you start with me.  I'm weak right now. It's not just the purchase price. It's everything else that follows with it and all of that money would be better spent elsewhere. That's what I'm telling myself tonight anyway.

that would be a interesting upgrade for the 696 that just sits in the garage and never gets ridden anywhere except  around the block once a week. if only i had the time, money, and knowhow to do the swap.

Wouldn't fit in that frame.  Would fit a treat in Rick's frame though.   ;D

That it would however there might be an issue with the rear swing arm bolt size.  Dunno exactly, maybe not but that's actually the least of it.

What bothers me more is that I'd just be compelled to tear down the engine and send the crankshaft & side case over to Ben Fox. It'd have to have the crank balanced, lightened and knife edged. Then I'd have to get Carrillo rods & have the clutch side case vented. It goes on & on before it even gets back to installing in the frame.   [roll]

where there is a plasma cutter and a mig and tig welder there is a way. however  i do  like Ricks idea better. and think he should snatch up that motor before some idiot tries to fit it in a 696 or a smart car.

The gears...  They be a-turning.

Albeit slowly.  I am mulling over the logistics. This has a potential of a rather nasty Frankenstein 848 that could surprise some 1198's. It wouldn't make more power but the power delivery could be quite interesting. Especially considering that there would be a decided lack of electronic rider aids.   [roll]

I have to balance this against lots of other options including the possibility of getting lost on the mainland for a couple of months whilst riding around on a certain Beemer.  [Dolph]

It's all good in it's own way.............

Whichever way it goes there is some fun to be had...........
