Just received my ctp green slip renewal from QBE $561 WTF :o

For my 03 sie 1000 monsters.

Didn't make any difference what insurance i had 3pty or full comp
no discount.

Before bending over and taking it like a man.

Better go through the mindless tasks of getting quotes.
Matty suggested, GIO they have come up top so far $389.83
if you have full comprehensive insurance, doesn't matter what company you are with either, They will give you a discount
So i will upgrade my insurance with Insure my-ride from 3rd party to full comp for $444 with a $750 excess for the market value of $11500.

As i am over half a century and the post code effects all this [laugh]
Ctp green slips may vary a lot in other states compared to NSW(the land of the free)

Is there anything better going other than not paying the rego at all [laugh]

Rob, this is the easiest way to find the right green slip:

http://prices.maa.nsw.gov.au/index.html

But comprehensive you are on your own. For a lower price you are better off with a less desirable bike, lower power figures, smaller engine, market value (not agreed), no mods and a sex change ... but you can keep your old age (for now).

Some companies offer discounts if you are a member of a recognised club, travel low kilometres  p.a. and/or only have one declared (read insured) rider. Much of it has been debated on here before.

Thanks Betty

Good link.

Sure there are many variables that affect insurance.

It appears buy the response no one is going to confess on the DMF
what it cost them to keep their little precious on the road. [roll]

Allmost as taboo as admitting what we have spent on Bling.

Just a suggestion, I joined Netrider, and that gave me a good discount through QBE as it classed a Bike Club, I think the discount was about 10%

The Forum is a bit of a box of Suck, but to save 10%, it was worth the $5 or so to join.

Two dogs

My CTP is also due
QBE $477
GIO  $381
Worth the phone call for a quote  [thumbsup]
thanks for the motivation Rob [bow_down]

I don't think it is that so much, it's just that the variables make premiums incomparable ... for the reasons I mentioned earlier. I don't have the figures with me but from memory Jukie's premium is hundreds of dollars cheaper than mine.

I think people have posted up their preimums in the past but with the most recent vox pop indicating many were insured with W/QBE we would only be arguing over these 'variables' beyond that you are debating variables in policy.

Bling coverage is a big question mark. Many insurers will only increase the replacement value a certain amount (if you have agreed value). They may list blingy bits on the policy document but it does not necessarily increase your insured amount or premium.

I too, do the ring around to get the best (greenslip) deal and now I've found an easier way, I go to an insurance broker, actually I use the one in Narellen shopping mall which right next door to the RTA plus us old folk get an added bonus the pretty young sheila has big tits, gives the optic nerve a work out :o and every time they have the best prices for greenslips even after my ring-around price.

What's it cost to use a broker Mick? Or do they get paid by the insurance co's they use?

Do you guys know which insurer is the cheapest for full comprehensive? Is it insuremyride.com.au?
