I'm expecting a package later today and when I get it I will put some photos up of my expanding Dainese leather Jacket collection.

I received a New DelMar Blk. & Wht. from the D-Store in San Francisco.

A very nice Jacket.

D-Skin leather , Bubble liner, Neck bracing apparatus ( which if you want it out of the Jacket it's easy to take out ) .Speed Hump.

The Jacket has 2 zippers near the top of the chest when unzipped allow air to flow through the Jacket and out through the 2 zipper vents on the rear sides.

Also above the front zipper vents , the whole top area is perfed, and there are 2 areas on the back of the Jacket that are perfed and along the sides is perfed as well.

The Jacket has the composite Shoulder and Elbow protection plus on each Shoulder is a thermoformed Titanium protector.

Comfort is assured w, strategic use of that lovely rolled leather also on the Elbows where they bend.

A Zipper to attach to Dainese and Ducati leather pants makes for a 2 piece leather suit.

Plus reflective piping and writing as well as logo lend safety for night riding.

Also a 2 snap neck strap and leather to Velcro side adjusters for the perfect fit.

Zipper cuffs w, leather tabs for the sportiness needed while riding a motorcycle.

All in all another master piece by Dainese.

That's a NICE jacket, Sir [thumbsup]

Question for you: the new Racing Pelle might be my choice. It's ordinary cowhide though, not D-skin. Do you have any insight worth sharing? Will I be dissapointed?

Lars,
I don't have any first hand knowledge of the Jacket you are interested in.

I have seen it on the Dainese website .

If Dainese makes it I don't think you will be disappointed.

Maybe if you compared it to a D-Skin Jacket side by side you would realize the softness of the D-Skin vs Cow leather and maybe some of the other comfort features may not be built in ....but if you like the Racing Pelle then especially if you have seen it in person by all means go with your preference.

The one area where I am not so turned on by the Racing Pelle is it has just a sanitized liner . I really like the 3-D Bubble liner for 3 season climate control. That's one of the things that separates the total package from the somewhat lacking in complete comfort Jacket.

You're robably right, anything Dainese will be above average in leather quality.
I tried on a jacket with 3D bubble liner and thought the liner made it a little bulky. I'm used to adjusting to the climate by changing what I wear underneath - I can see the convenience of an all purpose 3D liner, but I hope to be fine with the sanitized liner and high quality technical underwear.

Thanks for helping [thumbsup]

No problem.

We all had to adjust our own climate control ourselves before the 3D-Bubble liner so it's not like it's anything new.

I just like the convenience of the all in one climate control.

You're right Lars, it does add weight to the Jacket.

My problem has always been guessing how much extra to wear and then do I wear a perfed or non-perfed Jacket and I usually end up guessing on the side of too much clothes and then I'm sweaty and not comfortable .

I found w, the other DelMar that I have that opening and closing those zippered vents work really well.

Nice looking jacket, Dolph!

To threadjack some more  ;D, DDan, I need a perf jacket to use in (incredibly) hot Louisiana. I don't want a bubble liner for obvious reasons, and I really like the Racing Pelle, but unfortunately, all that white would end up looking nasty with all the bugs we've got here. When I come home from a ride, my visor and bike are literally crusted, and unlike Dolph, I can't see myself doing a full clean and condition every time I ride  ;)

Any advice?

Damn...

If all that leather was still on cows you would have a ranch by now.

At least I don't have to feed them !

To be honest, our newer standard hides are so nice, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference from D-Skin even if you had two jackets side-by-side to compare.

Take a look at the Air jacket.  It should fit the bill nicely.  [thumbsup]

It's fully perfed, front and back, and has no thermal liner at all.
