I am in the market for a new helmet and am considering the Corsair V.  As the cost of this helmet somewhat breathtaking (only slightly less the the GDP for Canada) I thought it would be worthwhile to get some input from the Board.  I have read a few reviews and the reviews are positive but I would appreciate any thoughts...

Absolutely awesome.  I have the dark color and love it.  I have a hard to fit head and this is one of the only helmets that fits me right.  It also flows more air than any other helmet I have owned and the vents are easy (with a little practice) to open and close on the fly.

The dark color does scuff easy though.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. H. L. Mencken

I have a Red one.

At 1st I didn't like it as much as my RX-7s but I have worn it the last 2 times out and it's fine.

I think it just needed to be broken in some.

I bought it online as I have most of my Helmets.

I wear usually a Large so that's what I ordered.

I seems very snug , but I guess that,s a good thing.

I wear a Helmet liner so I can't tell much about air flow but my head never gets too hot.

I recently bought a Corsair V medium and I'm liking it a lot.  My first helmet was a Quantum large and I slowly learned it wasn't the best fit for me.  Compared to my 7 yr old Quantum, the Corsair feels lighter (though isn't) and definitely flows more air.  It may or may not be louder, I usually wear earplugs, I'd say it's more whooshy than whistley. I love the dry-cool fabric on the interior, feels nice.

Small bits on the con side: The rear vents aren't as easy to open/close with gloves, and it's easier for me to forget which position is open/closed.  The spoiler wing is a mystery to me...  I don't know how up is different from down, let alone all 5 positions.  It is very stable though.

The first few days I thought I had made a mistake with the medium, major squish face, but with a BOSEG ;D it's broken in nicely.

The stickers on my solid race red were on top of the paint so they can be peeled easily if so desired.

I had a Corsair V that I wrecked in.  Great helmet, moved a ton of air, but it's LOUD and I found changing the visor a little finicky.  I got a Shoei X-11 as a replacement, but when it's time for a new helmet I'll probably go with the RF-1100.

Ive only owned 1 other helmet in my life (Shoei) and dont think I will ever own anything else. The Corsairs do tend to be louder than some of their other models but have more features. Fit and quality are superb! I highly recommend being sized for a helmet before throwing down your cash!
