Leather Guy

I've opened a new shop in Oakland, CA at the artist collective NIMBY. Currently I'm working by appointment only. If you are in need of any repairs, alterations or graphics added to your riding gear, drop me a line or call. I have over 35 years experience in leather design, alterations, and repairs.

FAQ, about lettering, sponsor patches and the cost of this kind of work. The following is an example of my pricing (pricing is subject to change), I hope this is helpful.

There are two options for lettering. First, I have cutting dies in 2" and 3" letters and charge $6.00 per letter for these. The font style is a bold Helvetica with a 7deg. slant. I have a minimum charge of $45.00 for the first four letters and $6.00 for each letter there after.

The other way to go is hand cut lettering, I have a minimum charge of $10.00 per letter depending on the style, with a minimum charge of $60.00 for first four letters and a minimum of $10.00 for each letter there after.

When doing lettering I make a "Patch" by stitching the letters to a contrasting leather background and then stitch that to the suit.

For sponsor patches (ie, Fabric patches w/plastic cover) I have a minimum charge of $25.00 for the first one and $10.00 for each patch there after.

If you have other question call or PM me.

Cheers,

Just an FYI, this board isnt like other boards. We dont like people comming off the streets and promoting their buisness without putting into the community.

THats an easy way to get hated around here.

If anyone is interested, I'll vouch for Richard's work.  He's been making and repairing leathers for decades, and has repaired my street and track gear more than I'm willing to admit.   ;) Glad to see you found a work space, Richard.   [thumbsup]
