I absolutely love CL.

I've found apartments (including my current one that kicks mucho ass), motorcycles, a rowing machine and TONS of other stuff on there.  I've also sold a good portion of stuff and never had anything but great experiences.  i've actually turned a profit on quite a few CL deals.  A lot of times you can get stuff on what I like to call "crack head discount" where they NEED money, then when you're done with it, you sell it like a normal person and actually end up making money on the deal - I love America.

totally had one of those moments on CL... in among many many good ones but the wierd ones stick out don't they?

My GF sold a lady an ikea glass top dining table, legs screw off easy-peasy, i even carried out to her van, she was $20 short and actually came back with it.

HOWEVER...

the next day she called several times, emailed often with the complaint that the legs were all wobbly. could i go and try to fix it. i don't know why i agreed but i did and it took me 2 hours and a trip to the hardware store to fix the (now worth) $60 table. she'd stripped the threads trying to screw the legs in and i had to go buy nuts to fix the leg-bolts, angled needlenose pliers to grab them etc.

so all in all i figure it cost me 40$ to get rid of the table from the basement.

what a deal! lol.

mind you, advertising a 'free kitchen and bath, bring your own tools and van and take it way' saved us a ton on demo and removal costs. so... ymmv

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, this is the War Room.

There is nothing noble in being superior to some other man.  The true nobility is in being superior to your previous self. And in bacon.

Well, there was the free doghouse we gave away -- a huge, plywood & shingle extravaganza -- that involved a couple of hours of disassembly, removal of part of the fence, some betadine & butterfly closures before all was said and done. Should have just burned the sucker in place.

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Or you could buy it, part out the wheels and tires, doors, front clip, interior, engine, transmission, radiator, suspension components, hubs, half shafts, brake components, steering components, and windows, and come out several thousand in the black...

There's thousands of Kias that have been stored at an airport near here for at least a year.
