Announcer: Let's have a great big Welcome Aboard for Jim from Mesa!!??!?!

<loud applause>

Jim: Thank you...hello! Thanks. <waits for applause to die down> Thanks, you're too kind. Well I'm Jim and I'm new here, new to Ducati with a two-month-old Monster 1100, but not new to motorbike riding. I've been in Phoenix most of my life. I was a motocross racing kid in the days of Bob Hannah.

My street riding career began when I was 15. My father started sending me out illegally to run errands on his 1978 CB900. He was a cop so he figured he could sort out whatever trouble I got in for being on a bike with only an automotive learner's permit. I think I heard him argue to my mother, "Riding a motorcycle is about the only thing that boy can do right, I figured I'd put that skill to some use".

By 18, I was a hooligan running round town on Vespa scooters, making trouble with a gang of about 20 other vintage scooter guys. At 22 I bought my first sport bike, the 1986 Ninja 600, followed immediately by a brand new 1988 Ninja 600, and it's gone on and on from there. Before I got the Monster, the pinnacle had been a 2003 Honda RC51. That was the bike which locked me into a love of performance v-twins.

Which brings me to today, when I got a message from Dietrich on another forum inviting me to come over here and see where all the cool kids hang out. Odd....I always thought all the cool kids were hanging out wherever I was....??

Hi Jim!

Look forward to meeting you tonight.
Don't be afraid of the guy all in yellow... he's mostly harmless.

   hi, my name's Elliott, or e if you prefer.  I'm just now getting around to introducing myself.  I've been riding since i was 16, and had a few different bikes, but this one is the one I'm most proud of.
   i ride a '92 900ss which has been heavily ...ahem, modified. it's probably in the roughest shape of any bike on the forum, but it's mine and it runs. mostly. I've had it since '00, and it's been my only form of transport for most of that time.

Mr Clean

Hello All,

AZDUC

New to Ducatis, but have been riding (street and dirt) for almost 40 years.....still race motocross. Just bought a 2007, monster "S" and waiting for delivery (feb 28th). I live in Mesa between the Alma School and Country Club, near the 60. I work in health care and go to school. Can ride weekdays as well as weekends. Was over at the other board for a while and not much response from AZ riders. Hope to meet some from here and ride.

Waiting sucks
