I've ordered and never had a problem. They've also got local stores. Our local store is great.

Never done anything online, but frequent their local stores.

Best deal on tire mount / balance. Pretty good prices on tires too.

I ordered a Dainese leather jacket that they said would be shipped in 3 days but wasn't shipped for 5 or so days. Other than that the Jacket arrived in perfect shape , just a little later than they had originally said.

I agree, first rate.  I had to return a $400 jacket and a $100 pair of gloves that I bought for my girlfriend ( now my ex ) and they took em back 3 months later with no questions asked.  I thought they would just offer me store credit but they reimbursed my card.  I used that to buy another jacket for myself that same day.

If they don't have a size or item in stock (even one off their website that is not in that particular store), they will send it to the store in your area, so it's kinda like free shipping... Staff has always been helpful and courteous... [laugh]

I ordered a pair of boots from them. it took them 3 weeks to get them too me.

when I did finally get them, the were different sizes. I called to get it fixed and the dude was f'n rude about it, they e-mailed me a label to ship them back. I didn't hear anything for about a week so I started calling.. first guy knew nothing about it... second guy made up some story about there computers being down and that he would call me the next day when he knew more.

I didn't get a call, but when I checked my account the next morning, they had reimbursed me. at least they could have called and told me they were doing so.

so, I'd say be cautious.. they've lost my business.

every chain retailer has issues with personell, some are rude , some aren't.

their prices are good, the stores are fairly well stocked, and they have great sales.

I know the Cycle Gear people at the Sacramento store are really nice.  They just moved into a big new store too.  It is massive, each brand of clothing now has it's own section.  Helmets covering a 50 foot stretch of wall in the back.  Boots boots and more boots.  The parts section is still small though.

as noted above they have a pretty generous return policy.  I think they even have a 7 day helmet return policy so if you ride a helmet and it's too loud or something you couldn't determine in the store, no sweat.  I think they'll also special order things with no deposit and no obligation to buy it.

I've only used the local store and had no complaints other than the gear section being limited.  Mine seems to be almost exclusively Hein Gerike or whatever that name is.
