There is a thread on the main board that is working up support for a recall/ class action suit.

IMHO, a recall/ class action would do everyone more harm than good. I mean, it's not like our throttles are sticking wide open and our brakes are not working (although it may sometimes appear that way to the casual observer [evil]). Getting a "Good Will" or warranty replacement and then applying a little preventive maintenance in the form of epoxy tank sealant would probably be a better resolution for the company and owners both in the long run.

Or maybe we would really rather own something else? ???

Then I predict the fall of Ducati again.  Let's see who rescues them this time.  What a shame something so simple and so short sighted

Ah, Muskrat, let us Dcatisti not be so quick to point, with the fickle finger of blame, to Ducati as the source of the problem. I'm sure the the tanks passed US emissions testing at the last review, or the bikes couldn't be imported. But was that last review before the timetable for ethanol blending under the 2005 Energy Act ratcheted up the ETOH % in the states from 7 to 10?

Just be glad you don't own a Duc in Brazil, where they run E75 by mandate:

[thumbsup]  that tank will give you 250 miles at least.

I was thinking about all the way to the border from Sao Paulo...and back.

Good news, Ducati NA is replacing my tank under "warranty" through ESC. Interesting choice of terminology, considering it's been out of warranty almost three years....but hey, I'll take it no matter what they call it. [moto]

I'm not sure why it was such a big deal.  I got mine swapped out on my monster as well.

muskrat

So would it be fair to say this is why the tanks don't sit on the tabs correctly?  Asking for others as I got mine swapped also and now it sits perfectly on the tabs

I would say yes; any tank fit issues I have read about seem to be related to the swelling/warping problem.
