Moto Guzzi 350 GTS and 400 GTS.  I didn't know Guzzi made Honda CB500's?  This must be a European model. Is it a rebadged Honda?  Or maybe ar rebadged Benelli copy of a Honda?

Alejandro de Tomaso owned both Benelli and Moto Guzzi during that time period.  He was determined to sell more bikes.  Rebadging made sense.  Too bad we never got any of these interesting smaller four cylinder bikes over here.

the guzzis have kickers but not the benelli?

Maybe, but perhaps it is just the difference between an early year model and a later year model.  Most likely the blue Benelli pictured above without the kicker is a later year model since it also has disk front brakes.  The Guzzi model is probably an earlier year with kicker and drum front brakes.

I bumped into one of de Tomaso's grand (or maybe great grand) daughters the other day. I was wearing a Moto Guzzi sweatshirt and she stopped me to inquire about it because she so rarely sees one. She told me about growing up and being the only girl in school with Benelli and Guzzi stickers on her books. Insisted on taking a pick of the sweatshirt too...

I remember seeing the cake being cut, the whole top half (seat, helmet, tank) is cake, and the rest is rice crispies and smaller blocks of cake.

I want a cake that looks like a cake.

And bikes don't need any theme beyond those included with the performance parameters of one's choosing.
