M is for ...

Hey guys. Just got home from the hospital. Stayed the night there with Will last night. Dr wants to keep him there another night for pain mgmt. He said something about oral meds wouldn't do the trick right now and if Will had any spasms it would do more damage. Plus the spine dr will see him tomorrow.

As for the driver of the big truck that hit him, he is a villian in my book. Tyler said after they got hit and were on the ground the guy was spinning his back wheels throwing up dirt on them. To me that sounds like he was seriously trying to take off but was stuck in some barb wire between some trees or something. Wasn't there but that's what Tyler told me. Just glad he was sell there when the trooper got there. Although the trooper wasn't the coolest either telling will he shouldn't be cycling on those roads. I'm sure he meant it as a nice piece of advice but it didn't really come out sounding like it.

Good news is will is generally in one piece and feeling as ok as he possible can after something like this. It definately could've been WAY worse so thank goodness for that.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I can't wait for him to come home.  Just gotta figure out a way to set him up comfortably downstairs. The bed is upstairs and the dr said he probably won't want to be climbing up any stairs

Malynn, we've got an air inflatable matress that's 6" thick or so we'd be happy to donate to the cause.  It uses queen size sheets and is very comfortable.  I can cruise it over to your house tomorrow if you think Will might use it?

Hang in there girl - we're all thinking about you  :)

As recently recovered I found the meds came in handy throughout the recovery period.  [drink]

Thanks to everyone who posted up. That definitely helped keep my spirits up.

I talked with the spinal surgeon today and he said it should take about 4-5 weeks to recover. I won't have to wear a back brace and I shouldn't have any long term issues. What a relief that was to hear.

keep a really clean diet and your recovery should be on the shorter end. Thank goodness about the brace!
