Not sure about the acupuncture but I find breasts very stress relieving.

Never tried acupuncture, my body doesn't seem to like needles much so it might not work as intended.

Coming from the far east, acupuncture is pretty common here. Well, it works if the acupuncturist knows his or her stuff.  There are a couple variants where a low current is ran through the needles.  It is no miracle cure, and here people usually medicate as well as go under the needles.

I reckon that it is best to merge acupuncture with physiotherapy and exercise to get the muscle back on the mend.

Hope that you recover soon.

Reviving this one.

First visit last week after a month of sciatica-like pain and had instant results!

Has anyone else had this done for lower back?

Could've but then old man DP or Derby would remind me that there was already a thread.

Anyway, going for second treatment today.  Crazy feeling the first time.  It felt like blowing bubbles in water with a straw when the needle was poked into L4-L5.  Hard to describe but no more pain/aching or knotted muscle.

I thought you disliked sharp things.
Like pins, needles, nails, pictures.
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

I had it done to my back when I was a teen.  Chronic lower back pain (not terrible or crippling, but constant) and since my dad is kinda spiritual/new age-y he was happy to pay for the treatment.  I think I went twice.  At the time, I really believed it worked---I mean my back felt better so I assumed it was the needles.  However, I no longer believe in "chi" and so I wouldn't go back if I had a problem nowadays.

That said, I'm a firm believer of exhausting all possibilities with regards to medical treatment.  If your first visit helped, then by all means keep it up!

I have done it  for my lower back. I had a slipped disc or bulging disc (cant remember) when I was younger. not sure if it was young age, or if it was the acupuncture, but eventually the relief I had from it allowed it to heal. I still get it from time to time now, but stretching and some visits to the DO on the regular has been enough. Ive also done acupuncture like injection's of a dissolvable string. the intent was that white blood cells would go in to attack the foregin object and it rushes in regenerative cells into the area. worked, but the needle was freaking HUGE!

My lower back pain was cured by a combination of regularly stretching my hamstrings and increasing my core strength. No needles required.  ;D

Yes, that helps. ^   My current back problems have been a combination of age, stress, lack of sleep/stretching and acting like a gymnast on the weekends.

Second visit today. It felt like waves were traveling from my ankle up to my knee.  Strange feeling.

Agreed Lethe!   [evil]

What's that all about HeMan?!

1.21GW.  [thumbsup] helping so far!   Last thing I want is back surgery.
