keep in mind its ok to be a little TOO rich. Too lean is bad.

apparently that is very true...  chopped lid and filter installed, and coming home sunday night it stalled on me several times just accelerating from a stoplight...each time at 3k rpms.

now if i can just get this vdst to talk to the ecu to fatten up the fuel....

how much would ams charge just to move a fuel slider about 10 or 15 clicks?  may just be the best solution right now.  i don't need dyno runs or any of that...just more fuel.

Stock ECU? If so then out of luck, as there is no fuel trim adjustment.  DP ECU?  I have a running vdsts now and could do it for you.

i talked to the dude at technoresearch yesterday just to verify that the two things i wanted to accomplish for sure (TPS reset and fuel trim) were the same on 5AM and 59M ecus, and he said that they were.  so it "should" be good to go.  he said to make sure i'm turning on the ignition and off and back on (apparently multiple times) to make sure the ecu doesn't go to sleep.  the problem is the software seems slow to pick it up even when doing that.  but the other troubling thing is the fuel trim has never been "available" to adjust...always greyed out every time i've tried.  so i may need to put in another call to desmo porche (the place that did the ecu-flashing) to somehow verify that they did in fact flash it.

best of luck to you. not to knock those guys, but its a really small, single garage door operation. It was pretty cluttered when I went down there, hope they didn't accidentally lose you in the shuffle (it certainly is easy to do)

i'm assuming you mean desmo porche, since they are in houston, and technoresearch is up in michigan?

I have a soft spot for small shops.  Don't you guys use Rust down there?

he's not really a small shop. the man's a genius and is not without great resources (AMS).

i grew up with small shops though. however back home, they were small but organized.

I thought there was going to be another dealer in Houston......maybe DesmoPorsche?  I certainly hope so because the guys at ExImports are clueless IMO.  I've never been treated nice when down there and like a kid I stop by every time I'm in Houston to drool over some machines.  Desmo sold me the swing arm and I was treated great.

DesmoPorsche is not a dealer. Just a small shop. No new bike sales, maybe consignment but that would be it. Its a bit like Alain's shop was in Nashville (Corse Motorsports off 4th Ave. So.), but even a little smaller. And with parts everywhere.

I've had one good experience with DesmoPorsche, and one questionable experience, so jury is out for me.

coming from a guy (a m) who works at the big dealer it doesn't mean much. if you walked into our heavy duty truck shop you would say there is no way they are working on my diesel. little would you know we have one of the top two deisel techs in the north texas. they way a shop looks or their size doesn't determine how good or bad their work is. the people doing the work determine that.
