So frustrating.   I get bar end mirrors finally and look what I did.  I forgot to flip the bolts as well when I flipped the clamp piece and bang!

you can save that

just weld a nut onto that shaft

we did that when I stripped out a MC screw
worked great and the weld didn't stick to the aluminum
