Beretta's tilt-barrel guns are interesting, but it's not an exceptional gun -- fairly typical blowback 380/9mm short handgun.

It will work well and with the tilt barrel it is easy to load and unload, for those that have weak hands to work the slide.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I like my SIG P232 .380 auto... but it's the other end from the comment above about strength... you gotta have a good grip and some strength to work the slide (especially if the hammer is up as well).  It's got pretty stiff springs for such a small gun.  My wife has trouble with racking the slide on it.  Cocking the hammer manually so you're not fighting the mainspring helps.

Little bugger is as accurate as a laser, though.  It's a blowback design with a fixed barrel, and that sucker is as accurate as the shooter's pointing skills.

If .380 was cheaper, I'd shoot it a lot more.  It's a lot of fun.

Thanks Ducatiz, I have not fired it but have cycled it and it seems to have pretty stiff springs or maybe it's me
half fast

Is it me or are most .380's built for tiny hands?

I can almost palm a basketball so I generally don't even give them a second look.

I have a tilt barrel Baretta in .22.  Its finnicky on ammo but overall a nice pistol.

Tiny has its place....I use my Kel Tec .32 as a money clip.

If you can carry a pistol in your hand all the time then no issue...

I have to put mine (pistol) away most of the time. ;)

Lol, I get they're geared for concealment. I was thinking more of Is there a 380 comfy to shoot in a bigger hand.

You could try a CZ 83...all steel with a grip the same as the 82 in 9 Mak.

Very different from the typical .380 pocket pistol.

That's the other reason I have the SIG.  The P232 is probably the best of the deep concealment pistols for those with large hands.

Because of my hand (and frame) size, I normally carry the P220 Carry, which is a full-frame .45 with a slightly shorter barrel than the standard model.  I have the P232 for formal or other events where deep concealment is prudent.

For reference, when I buy moto gloves, they're usually XXL or XXXL, depending on brand and cut.

Interesting. I have often thought a compact .45acp would be a great carry piece for me. I like that it's the full sized grip, short barrel and thin like 1911's are as compared to my ruger 9 which has the double stack mag.

I'm just theorizing though.

My wife carries a commander lenght 1911. She loves it, and it is easy to conceal. I love shooting 1911s, I just don't like carrying them.

same here.  Love shooting them.  Hate carrying.  I had an officers acp too.  Too thick.  I love the kahr and keltec for carrying.  The kahr is a dream to shoot but the keltec can be concealed with anything.

A modern version of the colt 1908 would be a good carry option.  Slender and a full size.

Anyone have any experience with a Colt Mustang?

I would not care for the trigger on the 1908 at all.  Or for the .25 cartridge.  I'm not sure what you see as good about that gun that you can't get in a modern compact .380.

Colt has started making the Mustang again, but IMHO it is simply a waste of space given modern materials and the demands of the .380 cartridge.

Compare the width of the Mustang to the KelTec P380 or the newish Ruger LCP.  Or even the Sig 232.  There is no comparison.

A .380 should be incredibly slim.  My Keltec is about .80" wide.  The Mustang is about 1.2" wide, more than 50% wider.  That makes a huge difference when you're sticking it IWB, unless your BMI is about 10.  Even the SIG 232 is narrower than the Mustang, but it's a bigger frame overall so you wouldn't carry it IWB as easily.

Then again, I've seen people with a G19 IWB.  WTF?

;D That is actually what I carry, just in the G23 flavor. Surprisingly easy in a Milt Sparks VM2.
