Oops, missed that.

I like a S&W model 19 for a medium K frame and the 686 for the slightly larger L frame model. Taurus makes some damn fine wheelguns too. Don't own a Taurus but have shot a lot that belong to friends. Even have a couple of older tricked out (Weigand) Ruger SP101s but they are 5 shot models (like a S&W J frame) not the normal 6+ modern .357 revolvers.

Probably my all time favorite is my model 65 Smith. Stainless K round butt frame, 3" barrel, fixed sights. It was the old standard FBI issue wheelgun. But I also had this one slicked up by Weigand. Bobbed/polished hammer so it's DA only, the action is like melted butter!!, polished trigger, chamfered cylinder, ball crane lock, barrel ported by Mag-na-port (http://www.magnaport.com/) and fitted with Hogue rubber grips. [thumbsup] It's awesome! [bacon]

Just a huge fan of the K frame Smiths. They always work and are small enough to carry concealed if needed... especially the 2.5" snub models.

That's my affordable offering. Don't get me started on my Pythons! [evil]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Thanks for the info.  [thumbsup] Any experience with the Ruger GP100?

Yes. I have a friend that owns one and it's also a damn fine wheelgun. He loves it... hell, I love it but don't need one. Like Taurus, Ruger makes some great revolvers! [thumbsup] And the GP100 is a very nice, well made, accurate medium frame size gun. I think it compares very favorably with a S&W L frame revolver like the 686. And I bet they are cheaper. Lots of aftermarket grips if you want, speedloaders out the kazoo and lots of holster options.

No way you could go wrong with a SP100. Do it. [popcorn]

No. And like my 916SPS, my Pythons are being buried with me! [laugh]

If you are willing to look at the Taurus guns, check out the Tracker in 357. I have one of the originals and it's probably the best 357 medium frame I've handled.  It's a 7 shot as well.  I have nothing bad to say about it.

THe original Trackers came only in 357 and 41mag and both came in stainless OR titanium alloy frames.  The titanium framed models are absurdly light and I did not enjoy shooting it at all (and it was the 41mag version so add that to the mix).

They've expanded the "Tracker" line to have a bunch of calibers, but the 357 is the best of the lot.

I also have a King Cobra and various J-frame class guns and like all of them, but the Tracker is the one I take out on dates.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Oooh, I forgot I also have a stainless 4" King Cobra. Also a very nice wheelgun. Python? ... no, but very much in line with Ruger or Taurus revolvers of the kind. Damn, I need to drag out my revolvers and get them dirty! I've been all hung up on Glocks, Hi-Powers and 1911s for way too long. Nothing says fun and 100% reliable like a good revolver.

I even busted out my old blued Colt Diamondback 4" .22LR at my friend's ranch two weeks ago. Haven't shot it in ages. It's just a mini Python and a hell of a little wheelgun. [thumbsup]

Standard 6 rnd wheelgun. It's an oldie but goodie. It seriously looks like a down sized blue Python. Great little shooter... I forgot how much fun it is and lots of folks at my friend's ranch had never seen one. So it got lots of action and TLC. [thumbsup]

edit: Oops, I was referring to the Diamondback but the same thing applies to the King Cobra except my KC is stainless.

I'm having fun with my H&R 999 as well, that's the main reason I started to shop for another revolver.
Thanks for all the recommendations guys.  [thumbsup]

I have a Dan Wesson .357 revolver. It is a great gun for the money. I'll try to get pics up tonight.

I used to have a Dan Wesson .44 mag with the 2 barrel factory kit.  That was one sweet revolver, very accurate.  Should never have traded it.
