One of my old toys.  Still miss it but it is one of the few vehicles I ever made money on.  [roll]  4x4 shift on the fly high and low, portal axles and hydraulic lockers.

Nice! There's a local fellow here who runs a Pinzgauer/Unimog sales-service-backcountry tour business - http://www.mogsrus.com/ if you get the hankering for another one - so they're a failry common sight around town.

And I want one of each.  ;D

That's pretty serious piping!  Just for looks or a very clever/cool way to get equal length headers?

Just for (very cool) looks. In fact, if you trace them from front to rear cylinders, you'll notice that it actually increases the discrepancy in pipe lengths.

Like I care.  [evil]

I thought of those Double Helix pipes he did for a Buell when I saw those headers.

The amazing thing about Doug's pipes were you could 'unwind' them.

Too bad he fell off the edge. :-\

You should see my welding. It looks nothing like that at all.  [laugh]

Those pipes are just tacked.

I'd love to hear the swearing involved in the actual welding. ;D

Or the swearing from others after I attempted to weld them.  ;)

Yeah that is too bad.  I didn't really know him but I've always admired his work.  I had some nice phone conversations with Doug when I was thinking of having some stuff fabbed for my bike.  He went out of his way and spent way more time talking me through options and giving me info than anyone should have.  Time is money and he was happy to share it for free with some guy (me) who just called with a few quick questions.  Little things like this make an impression with me.  Anyway I hope some good karma finds it's way to him.
