Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

I wonder what kinda torque effect that thing puts out when you blip the throttle.

Depends how he did it.

The easiest way would be to use two of the standard cranks, each driving a gear on one layshaft connected to the transmission.
Unfortunately, then they both turn the same direction, so it would torque a bit when you blipped the throttle.

If he did basically that, but had an idler gear between one crank and the layshaft, then they'd counter-rotate and cancel out.
Additionally, all the cam drive gear would rotate the proper direction on both banks.

Either method would be *way* cheaper than getting a special single crank made, which always presents problems cramming another set of rods and another cam drive into nearly the same length.
It's been done, but it's not easy.

What's the story on that ship/helicopter pic?

The ocean looks relatively calm, no waves visible that are near big enough for that angle.
Glad that chopper is chained down....

Basically this.

HARD turn to starboard.

Look in the back and see where the wake is.

When I was on the USS John Young DD-973, we would pull hard turns like that.  The call would ring out on the 1MC, "All hands stand by for Big John turns."

They were a lot of fun, especially if you were on the flight deck.  It was like surfing with an 8000 ton surfboard.
