Agreed.  If he is a long-term resident of your yard, I think he needs a name.  Any thoughts, JM?

Woody of course.  :D

That's how 'Woody Woodpecker' came to fame.  ;)

He's set up house in one of my doomed Maple trees.  I hope to document them as the babies hatch and all that.  Woody is great, he kinda resembles the cartoon Woody Woodpecker (I have an ancient silent 8mm film of a Woody Woodpecker cartoon) so it's fitting.  I camp out in the dining room with a 600mm lens and grab what I can.

I envy that 8mm film, that's awesome. Lantz used to wear gold Woody Woodpecker cuff links back in the day. The story of how he brought him to life in cartoons is epic.

And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.
