You know the ground is too bloody hot when.... Lotechis scutatus, the Western Australian Tiger snake, known by Noongar as Norn or Nornt, is a venoumous snake found in the southern half of Australia. Linda Day just shared this incredible photo her friend took in Esperance on the farm today.

Yep, heaps of snakes here out bush!

A few weeks ago, a mate was water skiing on the river where I grew up. A brown snake was coming across the water, directly towards where the skiers drop off at the end of a run.

Mate coasts in, snake slithers/swims in. Direct path of intersection has everyone yelling, women were screaming. Mate comes within 1 metre of the snake, but thankfully BEHIND it!

Snake gets whacked with a post hole shovel before it can mount an attack or come up the riverbank!

My mate casually says 'that's what you were all screaming about!' Lol!

This was taken about 20 miles east of Naples.
