Duke is barking.  He's using the "Something is wrong" bark.
I go in the living room where he is... there is a yellow jacket walking across the carpet...
Obviously Duke (who has been stung by several) is concerned. 
"good boy Duke, I'll take care of him" 
I turn around and grab a BRAND NEW never uncapped big fat can of Maxima Chain Wax to whack it with...
Thump the offending bug with the can...
It catches a carpet tack and explodes -EVERYWHERE.

I wouldn't know what to do for a clean up if it was chain wax. That stuff get into everything like it was designed to do. Maybe new carpet or a very hot power washer and vaccum.
