In the past I've had problems finding new routes outside my usual riding area.
With that in mind, I've begun to digitize routes that I've done or had riding buddies give to me in the past on Google maps.
With the growing number of Android phones and the fact that I think you can import Google maps to a GPS I thought this might be something that fellow riders might be able to make use of.

If you go to Google maps, click on my maps, localize the maps to the tri state area, enter MotoGiro in the search box, and choose user created maps in the advanced search box a list of the route maps I've entered should show up.

They range in length from 100 to 300 miles and so far are for NY, NJ and CT.
Each route is listed by the state it's in (MotoGiro NY or NJ or CT) and the county the route is primarily in.

If you use them please let me know how you thought the route and the Google map directions worked.
If anyone has routes they'd like to make public, please feel free to contact me via e mail and I will be happy to add the route to the MotoGiro collection.

If you know of an easy way to convert Garmin to Google maps, I would be happy to contribute my stash.

garmin to google maps or vice versa can only be done by using google earth as an in between.  Unless someone made a direct transfer recently.

I love Google maps.  I don't love creating a route in Google maps.  I can't figure out how to undo a mistake.

That kind of works as a pic, but the routes in Google Maps from Google Earth are not real routes, they are just a line-overlay that does not integrate to the actual roads.

I've made routes on maps, then transferred and/ or transcribed those routes to earth, and after that transferred to my Zumo 550.  Always worked and never had route issues due to transfer.  I've also reversed the process without issue.
