Puritans out in force in DC, so I'm on a mission

A couple of weeks ago, I applied for a personalized tag via DC DMV's website.  The tag I applied for: NAKED. Yesterday, I received a rejection letter: "The Tags you requested feature a message or display an image that may be considered offensive to the general public." So now my secret is out: I'm a strong believer in the Constitution protecting me from these bullshit bureaucrats who might be offended because I ride around with the word naked on my bike. So now, I'm in the process of tracking down the appeals process that 3 DMV employees have assured me doesn't exist. I'm not a Constitutional scholar by any means, but I've read enough Supreme Court decisions and googled enough resources on the interwebz to know that "somethin' ain't right" with this picture. Anyone aware of how these decisions are made? The rats at DMV won't even say how the decision is made other than DMV decides and "If you're not happy with the rejection, you should talk to the DC Council." Really?! What's your supervisor's name and contact information?

Meh, you're eventually gonna want to hide your plate anyway. No sense getting a vanity anything if nobody can see it.

:-\

This explains my haircut, by the way.

So I've got it tucked up with a tail tidy and it seems pretty hidden from the photo enforcement bastards, but I haven't tested it yet to see if it works or not. (Suggestions for hiding it well are greatly appreciated.) Of course the real fun is knowing that I have it regardless of whether or not you can see it. But mostly, I'm not a fan of "the man" telling me what I can say or think....now, where's my tin foil I've got to line my helmet?

How many letters do DC vanity plates get?  If it will allow six, how about NKDDUC?  Five, NKDUC?  If not that, FKYOU?

;D

It's unfortunate that your next step would be to nag city council. It doesn't seem like a good use of anyone's time. I'd keep trying to escalate this issue with the DMV. My guess is someone is hiding behind a closed door.

[whoops]
And vote Libertarian next time. ;)

I won't be hounding the council. I'm onto the director of DMV first.

I'm much more a small l libertarian than a big l Libertarian. Unfortunately, it seems political parties are like cable television...so many choices, none of them good!

My bad.

That's right.  Report to the ban yourself thread immediately.

I myself will be reporting to the drunk thread here shortly.   :D

Ok, I lied.  No posts in the drunk thread because I'm not going there...

The cigar had gotten a touch too moist to burn well.  Looks like it's time to get that humidor...

NOBRKS

a bit off the main theme, but I always find it hilarious.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.
