just wondered if anyone had any experience with some low-cost options for video cameras that you can mount on the bike.  i saw this: http://theflip.com/products_flip_ultra_specs.II.shtml  and thought it might work...if you can mount it sideways.  it's pretty cheap...

what video were you using on the trip, Jim?

I picked up one of these for about $100. Works great. then you need a tank mount or get creative.

Oregon Scientific

It's made for that + water proof etc.  Check resolution if it suits you needs. There are different models.

I Frankensteined mine together...
RCA Lyra 40 GB ($60 used)
No-name bullet camera from Fry's ($25 new)
Power source - Cigarette lighter adapter $5, and a DC to AC converter ($35).

It worked pretty well.  I need to find a better camera.

I just wish I had better software to edit it!

Ambition is a poor excuse for not having sense enough to be lazy.

I've never considered a video cam but the ZRXOA board I belong to has a whole permanent thread dedicated to member vids. There have been some really good ones with great quality and sound. Seen lots of different race tracks across the country from the seat at track days and races. Some killer videos of Deals Gap and great roads from Califonia, TX Hill Country and Eureka Springs, AR. Rich hope you get around to putting something together. Sounds like fun. DMF home movies! [moto]

I want one of these...

I can't find the price, but I bet it's pricey.

Check out the video samples.  There's a cool sample of a snowboarder who mounted the camera on a free rotating support on top of his helmet.
